Automatic payments on a plan (autopay)
Autopay makes each installment of your payment plan happen automatically, so you never have to remember a due date.
How it works
- Autopay debits each installment from a linked bank account (checking or savings). Automatic payments run on bank accounts only — cards are available for one-time payments but not for autopay.
- You link your bank account securely during plan setup (or later from the manage-plan page). Bank details are handled by our payment processor; ClaraPay does not store your full account number.
- Before autopay is enabled, you check a consent box that spells out the amount, the schedule, and the account to be debited. Nothing is debited without that consent.
- Each automatic payment shows up in your payment history with a receipt, just like a manual payment.
Turning autopay off
You can turn autopay off at any time from Payment plan → Manage plan. Your plan stays active — you will simply get a reminder before each installment and make the payments yourself.
Turning autopay on later
Started with a manual plan? You can switch autopay on from the same page: link a bank account, review the consent language, and confirm.
Good to know
- Make sure the linked account can cover the installment on your payment day; a returned bank debit can delay your plan.
- The name on the bank account should be yours — banks may return a debit when the account holder name does not match.
- If your bank account changes, update the linked account before your next payment date, or turn autopay off and message us for help.
